How we keep guests, hosts, and every dollar in between safe.
Verified hosts, reviewed listings
Every host completes government ID verification before their first listing goes live. Every villa is reviewed by our team — photos, amenities, and license details — before it appears in search. Listings that stop meeting our standards are removed.
How payments work
- You pay at booking. The total you see — subtotal + 3% guest fee + payment processing — is charged via Stripe.
- We hold the funds. Your payment is held securely; the host cannot access it before your stay.
- Released after check-in. The host's 97% payout is released once you've checked in, protecting both sides.
On refunds, note that Stripe keeps its processing fee (2.9% + $0.30) — we show the unrecoverable portion clearly before you confirm any cancellation.
Florida compliance
Many of our villas are in Florida, where CS/HB 1537 sets rules for vacation-rental advertising platforms. We comply by:
- Displaying the FL DBPR license number on every Florida listing.
- Removing listings within 15 business days of any DBPR notice.
- Filing quarterly reports of Florida listings with the state.
- Collecting and remitting applicable state and county tourist-development taxes where we are the merchant of record.
Guest verification
Guests verify their identity at booking. Hosts may set additional house rules and security deposits, shown before you pay — never after.
